TrueChildWithin & Better Days Ahead
There is No Normal - Teen Support Group
Our teen support group, There Is No Normal, is for teens age 12-17. The group is co-sponsored with Better Days Ahead, and is a peer-directed support group facilitated by professional young adults who have experience with mental health issues.
The group’s purpose is to provide a fun place where kids with a diagnosis of bipolar disorder have an opportunity to socialize with others teens who share their experiences. It helps teens understand that living with a mood disorder does not define who they are, and allows them to rediscover their strengths and humor. Meetings include event and trip planning, activities, discussions, and food.
The teen support group runs the same time as our parent group and is open for teens 12-17 years of age. You must register one day in advance to attend. Contact Karen Draper to register: kdraper@mharochester.org
SPECIAL NEEDS GIRLS GROUP
The purpose of the group is to socialize with other special needs girls & their families. We are welcoming girls of all ages to start, and hope to have groups break off according to ages & abilities.
Check our Facebook page for meeting times and information. Or contact Ellie Bradley at babymacaroni@mac.com
